EV Rebates in British Columbia (2026)

PausedPassenger vehicle rebate paused; the home-charger rebate (up to $350) is still available.
- The CleanBC Go Electric passenger vehicle rebate is not currently accepting applications. The federal EVAP still applies in B.C.
- Home charging: 50% of costs up to $350 for an eligible Level 2 charger, through BC Hydro.
- SCRAP-IT, a separate non-government program, offers additional amounts for scrapping a gas vehicle when buying an EV.
Federal: the $5,000 EVAP rebate
Active- Up to $5,000 for a new battery-electric or hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle; up to $2,500 for a plug-in hybrid.
- The final transaction value must be $50,000 or less, except EVs manufactured in Canada, which have no price cap.
- Applies to purchases and leases of 12 months or longer, from February 16, 2026 to March 31, 2031 (subject to available funding).
- The dealership applies the incentive at the point of sale; no paperwork to file yourself.
